wait how?! I get noticeable lag anytime I use steamlink and thats with like 200-300 mbps. the only thing I use it for is Disco Elysium because it’s point and click.

Did you do something in particular to get it this fluid?

This is stock standard Steam Link,it performs just as well without the VPN

This is streamed from a 10/10mbit line to a 30/30 line(same ISP with a 16ms latency between the two locations)

The most important part was disabling Intel and Nvidia options on the host as I’m using an RX580

I’ll post a link to my host options and client options

Can people really not wait to get home to play on their consoles/PC rigs? They’d rather fumble around with their phone with semi-clunky streaming setups? Yeesh

Can you please provide / toggle on the actual metrics of the latency on the client(s)?

Although you may have 16ms of latency between the different internet connections at points A<->B, does not mean you have 16ms of latency, total. So your title is misleading / you have misunderstood the latency people are generally interested when using Steamlink; that is caused by the encoding->transfer->decoding (from host to client) and input_lag->transfer->decode (from client to host).

What you get at best is the usual lag, which will be worse if you are not using H/W encoding/decoding, + the lag from the ping between your internet connections (x2, since for every input, there are two “transmit” phases from/to the actual running game).
